When should I apply for the courses of the master program?
New students must first apply to the program and if admitted will be able to register for their courses two weeks before the start of the first semester.
Is ESES in the Borlänge campus or in the Falun campus of Dalarna University?
The Master’s Program in Solar Energy Engineering is located in the Borlänge campus of Dalarna University.
How intensive is the course?
The ESES program can be very intense at certain periods of the academic term. The program requires good time management skills and expects that your studies will be your number one priority. Even with an at times intensive level of coursework our students find time to explore much of what Dalarna and Sweden have to offer during the academic year.

How many students are accepted each semester year?
Up to 30 students are able to study each program (the one-year and two-year program).
Is financial aid avaialble?
Students who are not citizens of the European Union or European Economic Area (EU/EEA) are required to pay tuition fees and also eligible for a limited number of partial scholarships which reduce the tuition fees by up to 50%.
Is it possible to work besides studying?
All full-time students, including international students, are allowed to work in Sweden. Finding a job is however difficult if you do not speak Swedish and it can be very difficult to have time to work while studying the ESES program.
Is it necessary to learn Swedish while in Sweden?
In general it is quite easy to get by in day to day situations with only English. Swedes of all ages speak English although they are oftentimes shy about doing so for fear of not being as talented as a native speaker. The majority of students do not learn Swedish and get by just fine.
